Question??

Im in need of some new wedges and have a question.

I am going to be getting the Rac Satin Tp wedges at 119.99 each and I can only afford 1 right now between the 52* 56* and 60* which one should i get first... The thing is I have a rac black 58* wedge that can do me till i have money for the lob wedge so its between the gap and the sand wedge which one should i get first.

No brainer....the 56* Sand Wedge, serves multiple duty....bunkers and long grass can be used for both. The 52* Gap wedge is just that, a gap filler between your Pitching Wedge and the Sand Wedge, average yardage 85. Pick it up later....

Depends on your needs. If you have the need to fill a gap, which it sounds like you do since you have a gap between the 47 on your PW and the 58 on your semi lob wedge, then get the 52 and bend it to 53. That gives you a pretty good set. You can always bend it back.

I would also take the bounce of your 58 into account. If it has enough bounce to get your out of the sand, then I don't see any reason to get a sand wedge. It's pointless to have a wedge within two degrees of your current wedge.

Good choice on the RAC Satin wedges. They have some serious grooves.

Taking the 58 completley out of the picture, I would say go with the 56 first. This gives you the best versatility while you are without a full set. It's something you can hit high if you need, or you can pitch and run if you need to as well. Some people don't play a gap wedge, but as a person that uses a lot of full wedges, I'd go with the 52 next after the sand, then the 60. Again, it all depends on your style of play and how versatile your short game is.

I would hate to have to lay off a pitching wedge at 130 or try to rocket a sand wedge. I'm someone that likes to make a normal swing as often as possible, just to eliminate the chance for error. You're given a 14 club max for a reason.

On the other hand, if you are the type of player that hits a little shorter, and don't generally get in the yardage range where you would need a gap wedge, then get the 60 next after the sand. The 60 degree wedge isn't the end all savior club of the short game, but it's amazing to have in the summer when you need to stop a short sided pitch, or hack out of a bad lie.

It all depends on the situations you are faced with the most. You can even play around the club you don't have. It's all up to how you play Matt.
