Buying New Irons ! Please advice.. Thank You

I'm planning to buy a new set of irons like what I mentioned in the title.

I have two choices and I can choose either : S-Yard or TaylorMade

For the S-Yard, its model is U101 regular graphite shaft.

For the TaylorMade, its model is r7 TP also regular graphite shaft.

I must make the decision before this Saturday cause' I'm buying them on Saturday.

Please advice quickly Thank You !!

I think you should hit both. Based on whichever you hit best, get properly fitted and buy that set. The "iron set" is the one that you hit the best....

I have to admit that until you posted the S-Yard brand I had never heard of them. Did a little web crawling and they appear to be an off shoot of the Seiko corporation. Much as Seiko has a good reputation, I would have to wonder about their experience at building clubs, where-as TaylorMade is well known for its clubs. I would say it gets down to how do you feel about the different sets, a lot of our game is feel, if you feel you got the best clubs then those are the ones for you, and of course theres always price, I dont know what S-Yard is priced at, but I do know that TaylorMade is pricey. Sorry cant be of more help....

S-Yards are more expensive than taylormade. Even their most basic model is more expensive than taylor made's most expensive model. S-Yards are very light, eg. C6, C7 for graphite. Maybe S-Yard is just charging a high price for its brand..

As suggested, have the shop tape some up and hit them. The ones you hit the best, feel the best are the ones to choose.

I bought the r7 iron. Not the TP. Graphite stiff shaft. The people at the golf shop tested my swing and said it is 80 mph. Then they said I needed a stiff shaft.

Everything I've read about shafts states that if your swing is under 100 mph you should be looking at a Regular or even a Senior shaft. Stiff shafts are for people who have high swing speeds. I'm assuming you've already purchased them, so I would be very interested in your first test results on the range.

Oh damn.. It means that the guy had cheated me? what the hell. But I have an improvement in my distance at the range. With my previous iron, which is a mizuno finalist, for the 7 iron I hit 120 yards. But for the r7, 7 iron I hit 160-170 yards.

Alas all 7 irons are not created equal. Check the lofts of them and comapare them. I bought a set of Nike Pro combo's, and hit my 7 iron only as far as I hit my 8 iron from a King Cobra knock off set. I checked and the 8 iron had the same loft as the new 7 iron. It is the loft that's important, not the number stamped on the club
