Advice on new irons please.

Hi,

I used to be a three handicapper. I am going to start playing golf again after a three year layoff. The irons I have are hogan blades and to be honest I'll never play enough to use them properly again.

I'm looking for something a little more forgiving but not wanting to go to game improvement clubs.

I would appreciate any input.

Thanks.

I recently purchased the Macgregor M685's. I checked out Mizuno MX25, and the 900's. To me, the 685's with 5.5 rifle shafts felt very balanced and have a great feel. This is my first set of forged irons and I couldn't be happier with them. No chance of my old Tommy Armour 855's going back in the bag. Good luck with your purchase.

While not a 3, I was looking to duplicate a blade experience with a more modern cavity backed casted iron. For a modern era players club, you might care to consider the new Ping i10 irons. For an older model that I think you will really like and can order through Ping on its web site is the ISI series. Lot of good players still use these sticks. Mizuno also makes some very good players clubs.
Best of Luck.
