| Hoey and Fisher Jnr make positive starts Northern Ireland’s Michael Hoey made a terrific start at the Joburg Open to be amongst the early leaders at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club.
Hoey birdied six of his opening 12 holes on the East Course to reach six under par.
He was joined on that score by South Africa’s Trevor Fisher Jnr – who was playing the West Course.
Seven birdies and a bogey saw Fisher reach six under through 11 holes at the co-sanctioned European Tour and Sunshine Tour event.
Also on the West Course was Spaniard Alfredo Garcia-Heredia, who was a shot further back on five under after 14 holes.
Another South African, Keith Horne, and Swede Henrik Nystrom were four under after ten and six holes respectively. |
