Background & Professional Bio:

A women’s golf legend, the 5’10” Laura Davies holds her own among the LPGA’s masters. As an Amateur, was a member of the Great Britain and Ireland Curtis Cups Team (1984), won the 1983 English Int. Championship, the 1984 Welsh Open Strokeplay Championship and the South Eastern Championship (1983-1984).
She turned pro in 1985, but it was in 1987, prior to her joining the LPGA, that Davies won her first major (the US Women’s Open). Her career continued to soar and in 1988 she received the honor of M.B.E (Member of the British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth II - later only to be topped by being awarded the C.B.E. (Commander of the British Empire), the highest honor that can be given a British Citizen.
With career earnings topping $7 million in 2005, her career spans the record books. From her four victory season in 1996 (Standard Register PING, LPGA Championship, du Maurier Classic, Star Bank LPGA Classic) to recording her fourth consecutive win at a single tournament the following year (Standard Register PING) , to the Kolon Cup Korean Open in Seoul, where she became the first woman to compete in an Asian PGA Tour event, to her 2004 LPGA season record of nineteen eagles – Davies continues to strive for greatness. During the 2005 season, she showed no signs of slowing down - competing on her ninth Solheim Cup Team, the only player in the tournament’s history to play in all nine cups. Her 3rd round play at the Weetabix British Open saw her achieve back-to-back eagles.
