Australian Nikki Campbell selected for Team International

Perth, Australia, November 26, 2007: Lexus today announced the final eight players who have been selected through Captain's and Sponsor's picks to take part in the Lexus Cup 2007. Scheduled to take place at The Vines Resort and Country Club in Perth, Western Australia from 7-9 December, the Lexus Cup 2007 boasts the highest ranking players ever and the stage is set for a tough battle between Team Asia and Team International.

Lexus have chosen to select Australian Nikki Campbell for Team International along with Stacy Prammanasudh as sponsor's picks. Campbell is making a return to the Lexus Cup having played in the 2006 edition in Singapore. The 27-year-old plays predominantly in Australia and Japan and is one of the most consistent golfers on the Japan LPGA Tour. From 24 tournaments this year, she has chalked up nine top ten results, with a season's best 2nd in the Christal Geyser in August. She has not missed a cut since mid-April, getting in the money for a remarkable 18 consecutive tournaments. Seventy-five per cent of her career earnings of US$1.2 million have come from the Japan LPGA Tour.

Said Campbell, “I'm honoured to be selected for Team International yet again for the Lexus Cup. This year's tournament will be extra special for me as I will be playing in my home country, which makes me an ambassador of sorts. In that respect, let me extend my warmest welcome to all the golfers who will be arriving in Perth, you'll love playing here and I am sure we will have a cracking tournament!”

Prammanasudh is also familiar with the Lexus Cup having played alongside Campbell in 2006 and recording two wins and a draw for the tournament. Winner of the Fields Open in Hawaii and a further nine top-ten finishes under her belt for the season, she is a strong addition to the team that is aiming to win the trophy on home soil.

Pettersen and Kerr ready to rock at Lexus Cup 2007

World number four Suzann Pettersen and world number five Cristie Kerr are ready to bring their ‘A' game Down Under for Lexus Cup 2007 after an amazing year on the Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour (LPGA).

Suzann Pettersen will be one to watch as she is in blistering form this season having won her first LPGA Tour event in May at the Michelob ULTRA Open. Building on this success, she has just clinched the last two consecutive LPGA events – the Hana Bank KOLON Championship and the Honda LPGA in Thailand. The McDonalds LPGA Championship and the Longs Drugs Challenge can be added to the impressive tally and this run of form looks set to continue as she edges nearer the Lexus Cup and her best season ever on Tour. Currently in second place on the LPGA Official Money List (as of 5th November), fans will be eager to catch her fine form in action at Lexus Cup 2007.

Celebrating its third edition, the Lexus Cup will be held for the very first time in Australia at The Vines Resort and Country Club in Perth, Western Australia, from 7-9 December 2007. The prestigious LPGA Tour-sanctioned season-ending ladies team golf tournament will feature 24 of the best women golfers competing in a team competition with defending champions Team Asia, led by Se-Ri Pak lining up against Team International, captained by Annika Sorenstam.
