Why is it that these auto repair shops think they can get over on us women? I am so sick of it! I have a chevy blazer that I have had for less than 2 years and the fuel pump went out on it 3 times now. Each time I had to have it towed back to the garage that fixed it thinking it was UNDER WARRANTY.... they have refused to honor the warranty, they say I am over my mileage but yet they cannot prove it because they did not write down my mileage the last time they fixed it! GGGRRRRR I am so aggrevated. My father taught me alot about cars so I am no dummy and not BLONDE either!
I am so sick of men at garages getting over on us women! My hubby went in to the garage yesterday after I argued with them about this and they refused to fix it.... now after him going in to talk to them they are going to fix it. grrrgggggrrrr BUT still not for free under the warranty either, they told hubby they will work out a deal.

Diane, i see it often too. Im a car enthusiast and ive been at many auto shops where i see women come in and get quoted far more than had it been a guy.
I suppose, buyer beware. Ladies need to do the same research guys do, go in there with knowing what things are worth.

As for dealerships and warranties, they tend to stick everyone.....Been there, done that. I too have been a victim.

Car guy here as well. Pretty much a backyard mechanic.

It happens, and unfortunatly theres not much ya can do about it besides prior to going to the shop do a little research as to what may be wrong, and what it takes to fix it. The more they THINK you know, the less likely they will be to give you an overestimate i would guess.

If i were you i would write to the BBB. If you burning out fuel pumps that fast there is most likely another problem. You paid the auto repair shop to fix the problem. The problem is you keep burning up fuel pumps. And they have not fixed that problem time after time.
