PGA Championship.

PGA Championship.
August 17- August 20 2006.
Medina Country Club, Medina Illinois.

The final major of the year on the PGA Tour takes place at Medinah Country Club outside of Chicago and has a purse of $6.5 million. Phil Mickelson, likely the sportsbook second choice after Tiger Woods this year, is the defending champion. Mickelson shot a 4-under 276 last year to edge Steve Elkington and Thomas Bjorn by one shot. Woods, who will be the choice of most golf bettors to win this tournament coming off his British Open performance, finished two shots back last year at Baltusrol. This win propelled Mickelson on a hot streak, with Lefty winning the Masters this season before fading at the U.S. Open and the British Open. A good long-shot option for golf bettors this year is Davis Love III, who always seems to play well at the PGA and last year again was in the hunt, tying with Woods for fourth place.

PGA Championship breakdown (updated thru August 3)
• Is one of the four Major Championships in men's golf, and it is the golf season's final major.
• This Championship is often called "The Season's Final Major: Glory's Last Shot!"
• PGA champions are automatically invited to play in the other three majors (The Masters, US Open and The Open Championship) for the next 5 years.
• Past winners: 2005 Phil Mickelson, 2004 Vijay Singh, 2003 Shaun Micheel.

I was not very impressed by the first day of play, Stetson is definitely on his 'A' game. The hole in one on the par three was awesome, even better was his reaction. I wish I could be there but fortunately enough, ill be able to watch it from work. Have you seen this yet, the PGA just launched a golf video covering some of the PGA Champ. Just log onto: http://www.pga.com and check out PIPELINE. Ogilvy, woods, and Mickleson, need to step it up! Who are you all cheering for? Check out Pipeline its cool stuff, I've been watching full field all day. While at work!

Its really hard to choose who to cheer for... But i hope Tiger and Phil step it up and put on a clinic in the final 2 days...

Well, it was that same man again - played well and deserved it.

I am a little dissappointed for Luke Donald, when the luck doesnt run your way, it really doesnt help. Sadly it doesnt depend on luck, and the better player on the day won.

Good tv.
