| Thank God Golf On TV Starts Again Soon! Baseball season doesn't start soon enough. Football is almost over. I can't stand ice hockey or basketball. If golf wasn't coming back on television starting this weekend, I think I would go start raving crazy!
I need a 12 step program to get me through sports season.

I need a 12 step program to get me through sports season. | You can't stand HOCKEY" Then there is always the PBA during the winter months for guys like you
Plus you can golf so why worry about sports on TV?
Speaking of golf. I recieved emails from local courses here in Southwest Ontario. Both will be open this week! Here is it the first week of January and courses are going to be open. One of them is mine, so I have free golf comoing up this weekend! |

| I guess I should have said I can't stand to watch hockey on television. I can't follow the puck. Being at the game, even in a lousy seat, is better, but then all we have is the Florida Panthers. Who wants to watch THEM?
Basketball, you can keep. I played through high school and college, but I don't like what the game has become.
The PBA, huh? Have they got any cute girls over there?

I need a 12 step program to get me through sports season. | For the most part, you mirror my feelings exactly. Although I don't watch as much golf on TV as I used to, it's still better than basketball or hockey. And we're still 6 weeks from spring training for the Rockies (I know, they suck, but I've loved baseball since I was a kid listening to the sucky Twins on the radio). Unfortunately, playing golf isn't in the cards for me for a while, so I'm just going to have to deal with it....
I am shopping for a new driver.... but I don't want to actually make any decisions until I can play outdoors and really see what I'm dong with it. I see many hours to spend at Golfsmith and a couple of other golf shops here, hitting balls into nets and trying to resist any hasty impulses....

| I can't blame anyone for not wanting to watch the incredible Florida Panthers...
I too am looking forward to the season starting back up. I'm particularly interested in how the "FedEx" cup will work itself into the fold.

The joke around here is that the Florida Panther is an endangered specie nobody wants to save. If the team moved elsewhere, nobody would care.

People say they do not want them to leave but when they do, people will whine. "Why did that team leave our area for somewhere cold?"
The sad thing is, the Panthers have 4 wins less than the Toronto Maple Leafs and you can't buy a ticket to see that losing team up in Toronto! Sold out every home game.
I have heard if you buy one ticket to a Panthers game you get another one for free? If so that is a great deal.
I know this young player from the Panthers. He played a season of JR B hockey for us here in St Thomas. Good kid. NHL.com Players
As for following the puck on TV. I remember when FOX tried that experiement of highlighting the puck during the game. When the players shot the puck hard at the net there was a blue streak on the screen. What a joke that was! I agree at times it is hard to follow the puck, but that is mainly due to poor camera work by the broadcaster. CBC, TSN etc do a pretty good job of broadcasting hockey games. So it makes it easier to watch.

If the team is losing, they can't draw a crowd because people here would rather complain.
The only team that had a losing season and proved it could still draw an SRO crowd was the University of Miami Hurricanes football team. UM develops their faithful among this community and the professional teams need to take note.
