The Masters

I can not believe that THE MASTERS is entering the third round and no one on this forum has brought it up.
Doesn't anyone have any interest in the first Major of the year?

Sorry guys... but look who's in the last group tomorrow. It was 16 years ago when the winner last came from any but the final pairing. Appleby or Woods... those are your choices...

Well woods has only won when he has been leading after the 3rd round so im saying Appleby.
But my god does he look scruffy haha he needs a hair cut and some longer trousers.

The sad thing is now it will be the Tiger Woods Show. Since he is in the last group we'll see every move, step, fart, burp, club slam he makes for 18 holes, win or lose.
The rest of the contenders? You might see a few shots from them here and there.

OMG You're right! I hadn't considered the Tiger factor in the coverage! This could well mean poor coverage of the field. My hopes for an unbiased coverage of the conclusion are falling like autumn leaves....

I think you can throw out the stats on the final pairing wins this year. This Masters has proven to be itself to fall wayyyyy outside of the bell curve. For myself, I'd like to see the players be able to give the course a run, but I'd like to see an underdog win. I have nothing really against Tiger - he is the best - bar none - but his dominace makes for boring golf. (Please - don't say all the common retorts about his fantastic shot making.... its conceded. Since there is proportionately more coverage of Tiger, we see more of his shots - I'm certain the other pros hit similar shots... we just don't get a chance to see 'em.)

Viay looks too far back, Phil is a distant possibility... I'd like to see Rose get back his Thus., Fri. game again, Appleby seems to be calm and ready... Another dark horse could be Tim Clark - he was runner up last year wasn't he?

Congratualtions to Zach Johnson for a wonderful display ont he final day. He derved it he held all the pressure right up until the end.He has also broken the record of the winner coming out of the final group.
However i was dissapointed to see the Tiger change...I have never seen him slam his clubs so many times and also shout at his caddy "i thought you said it was downwind"and also he has held his record of not winning unless leading into the final round.
Also to see the fall apart of Justin Rose, i had my hopes up with him this year i thoguht he would surely win having lead for two rounds in 2004.
Congratulations Zach Johnson

Not this year! Congrats to Sach for a well earned victory for his first Major.
PS A Note to Tiger. Please stop slamming clubs on the ground when you miss a shot. It looks very childish.

Yup. That was disappointing. Especially when you could clearly see on the camera shot that the wind was in his face.
