| EDS Byron Nelson Championship notebook IRVING – As a show of how his life has changed since winning the Masters two weeks ago, Trevor Immelman held up his left hand.
The bottom of his palm was filled with Sharpie marks.
"That's purely because I've had to sign so much stuff today," he said. "So that's kind of weird, how things can change so drastically in the space of a couple of weeks.
"You've got to pinch yourself when you realize that you're the Masters champion and that's the reason all this is happening." Complete article |

| Goggin, Moore share early lead at Byron Nelson Championship Matthew Goggin and Ryan Moore shot 3-under-par 67s to take the lead late in the first round of the wind-blown EDS Byron Nelson Championship at the newly redesigned TPC Four Seasons at Las Colinas.
Eric Axley was also at 3-under through 15 holes.
Jesper Parnevik, the 2000 Nelson champion from Sweden, Kevin Sutherland and Briny Baird were all in the clubhouse at 68.
Scores were high across the board as the field battled a 23-mph wind. South African Trevor Immelman, playing his first competitive round since winning the Masters two weeks ago, finished at 8-over 78, including a triple-bogey 7 at No. 15. Chad Campbell of Colleyville shot 77.
Kevin Streelman gave the early rriving fans something the cheer about, making a hole-in-one at the 198-yard 17th hole. Later, Dean Wilson aced the 174-yard fifth hole.
Despite heavy overnight rains, play began on schedule at 7:15 a.m. Friday's second round also begins at 7:15. The marquee threesome of Justin Leonard, Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia will tee off at 7:44 a.m. from No. 10. |

| Immelman trying to disembark cloud nine in time for tournament He sees the Green Jacket, which hangs in "its own little spot" in the closet of his Orlando home, several times a day. But Trevor Immelman says he still has to pinch himself.
Not because it's a fashion faux pas, though.
Ten days ago, Immelman joined his idol Gary Player as the second of the only South Africans to have won the Masters Tournament. As he returns to work this week at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship, Immelman is trying to come down from cloud nine. It won't be easy.
"It's just such an incredible feeling to know that I've won that tournament," the modest 28-year-old said Wednesday afternoon from Irving, Texas, during a national teleconference. "That's something that can never be taken away from me."
Immelman's three-stroke victory over Tiger Woods at Augusta National was the start of a whirlwind 48 hours that found him and his wife Carminita jetting to New York City for the first time. In between radio and newspaper interviews, he appeared on 11 different TV news and entertainment shows, including "The Late Show with David Letterman" -- where he read the infamous Top-10 List -- and "Live with Regis and Kelly." | Wind blows, scores soar at EDS Byron Nelson Championship With a revamped course and renewed title sponsorship, the EDS Byron Nelson Championship has a new vision.
But on Thursday, John Mallinger and Westlake's Todd Hamilton were barely visible on the 18th hole. They played almost identical shots, standing knee deep in the water near the cascading waterfall.
Chris Stroud blasted his chip shot from the pretty flower bed near the pond on 17. Kevin Streelman made a hole-in-one there. And Dean Wilson aced No. 5.
With winds blowing steady at 20-25 mph and gusting to 35, players stepped gingerly into this new era at the TPC Four Seasons at Las Colinas. Complete article |

| Start spreading the new Last April 29, the reviews ranged from diplomatic to scathing. Players left the final round of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship grumbling about the bumpy, brown-patched greens.
It was little surprise that this year's Nelson attracted only one world top-10 player, Adam Scott. Prestige-wise, it helps that Scott won with a dramatic playoff putt. But what kind of impression did the revamped TPC Four Seasons course leave? Complete article |

| Scott beats Moore in playoff at EDS Byron Nelson Championship IRVING, Texas -- Adam Scott felt he needed to make a statement by winning Sunday. He did, though, not quite the way he wanted to do it.
After blowing the three-stroke lead he carried into the final round, Scott made a 9-foot birdie putt on No. 18 to force a playoff, then made a 48-footer playing it again on the third playoff hole to beat Ryan Moore in the EDS Byron Nelson Championship Complete article |
