| Johnson hopes for good fortune near home SILVIS, Ill. (AP) -- He hasn't been back to survey the destruction, not that Zach Johnson really needs a first-hand look.
He saw the videos and pictures. He heard the horror stories from his relatives and friends back home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and he realizes just how fortunate they are.
The damage they suffered "relative to other people, it's really minimal," he said.
The sigh of relief he let out was a big one, though. Now, if he could just get his game on track. Source |

| Kelly lends flood support to Midwestern neighbors Jerry Kelly saw what he calls the "Midwest Katrina" up-close-and-personal when he was driving back from the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship several weeks ago.
Kelly had just finished caddying for Kristina Merkle, a promising 16-year-old, at Erin Hills Golf Club, which is about two hours from his Madison, Wis., home. The 2002 Sony Open in Hawaii champion struck up a friendship and made the commitment when he met Merkle at a pro-junior event at Waialae three years ago. Source |

| Perry continues strong run at John Deere Classic Kenny Perry continued his best run in more than two decades on the PGA TOUR, firing a 6-under 65 Thursday in the first round of the John Deere Classic that put him one stroke off the lead.
The 47-year-old Perry is right behind Ken Duke and Charlie Wi in a tie for third after winning two events last month. Woody Austin was in a group at 5 under, with 2007 Masters champion Zach Johnson five strokes behind the leaders. Source |

| MacKenzie leads at 13 under, Perry just two shots back Kenny Perry arrives at the putting green and the routine begins.
Players touch him. They ask what he's eating.
"In my 22 years out here, that's never happened," Perry said.
It's happening now because he's on the best roll of his career. Source |

| Perry moves into tie for lead with Axley and Adamonis Kenny Perry can't figure it out, either.
The new putter? That seems to be helping. His surgically repaired knee? It feels fine, after he rushed back two years ago. Source |
