Heavy putters?

Do you like your putters on the heavy side or on the light side? I find a heavier putter gives me more control...what's recommended, and what do you find works best for you?

I love heavy putters!
It feels like with light putters I can't force myself to take a big enough backswing, which leads to overaccelerating through the pull, which leads to 17 putt greens.

Don't laugh

It happens.

Oh, I'm not laughing. I've had my share of 4-10 putt greens. You get more and more frustrated, and your putting gets worse and worse. You start missing two footers, and your whole round is screwed

I have tried the heavy putters but I seem to smash the ball past the cup.I think it would take some getting use to.I use a ping putter that I have had for about 7 years and put very well with it.I would like to maybe get one of those long putter to play around with.I think they would work really good on fast greens..

I have tried a long putter on several occasions and it did help a lot with too much wrist action, which is something I've had a problem with lately. It really cut down on the feel of the putt though, so I don't use one anymore. Plus, you can get some really strange looks from people on the course who don't look too closely and think you're not using a putter to putt with

I tend to like a heavy putter, but I don't really know if it's helping with my case of the yips.

I dont mean to flame but are you a serious golfer because i have never seen a serious player have a 4 putt green.

I like heavier putters more because when I use a light putter I dont hit the ball hard enough and end up short but a heavier putter solves that problem for me.

heavy putters are better for me. if you have a putter that is on the lighter side just put some lead tape on the shaft and it makes a big difference thats what i did
