| Ah, Cricket, lovely Cricket...
Sir Garfield Sobers used to come to Jamaica on business after his playing days and I got to know him through a mutual friend. I also got to play golf with him a few times, which is an experience in itself! He gave me a little book about Cricket that was pocket sized so I could listen to the test matches and understand what was going on, not that he stopped teasing me about being a dumb American.
I kept the book open to the page that showed the positions and when the radio announcer would say the ball had been hit to Slips, for example, I knew what he meant. I never did see the wisdom though, of Silly Mid On... Those guys must be kept in cages!
Now we have an American Cricket League, but it's hard to watch. They don't wear whites, but look more like baseball players in the colorful uniforms. It's just not right.
I am looking forward to the broadcase of the West Indies in India and think there should be a party to watch that telecast.
