Barton Hills was designed by Donald Ross. It was first used by the United States Golf Association as a championship site for the 1998 U.S. Women's Amateur, won by Grace Park. The Women's Mid-Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted by the USGA. It is open to women amateurs 25-and-older with a handicap index not exceeding 9.4. This year's event will be at Desert Forest Golf Club in Carefree, Ariz.
