How are points allocated?

I seem to have a lot of points considering my number of posts. Not that I'm complaining however!!! Are the linked to something, like the length of posts or the amount of characters used, or the interestingness of posts/threads etc.

My general guess is that points are awarded based on the region you live in. So far that is the only way it makes any sense to me, because I'm a pretty active fellow on the boards but the points just don't come.

I had thought about it like that, but wasn't sure if the forum was UK or US based? I'm guessing US?

Now that is a great question.

Maybe one of the mods would know the founders home country...

It's not a super huge deal though - I just have to work a bit harder for those really cool features that you can buy with all the points.

What can you buy? Anything good? All I know how to do is bank my points at the moment!

You can customize the user title under your screen name. Right now, all I have in the bold title feature (it was all I could afford @ 200 points.) Once you are in the Points field there should be something called e-Store on the screen. Click on that and it'll take you to the section where you can spend your points.

There are also: customizable color, italic font, customizable description and maybe one other feature...?

I'm waiting for the forum t-shirts to come out so I can use my points to buy one.

How's THAT for putting the administrator on the spot!

If you check you can see I got a car load, bought the bold and italic but didnt see any real difference. The way I've been accumulating points is to buy tickets on the e-lottery... guess cause I'm the only guy doing it, I've been winning regularly.

I keep trying to win the lottery for the "big one" but I haven't been lucky yet. It'll happen sooner or later though - I'm sure of it.
