| Kenny Perry wins the Travelers Championship Kenny Perry posted a final round of 7-under-par 63 and won the Travelers Championship by three-strokes over David Toms and Paul Goydos.
Perry birdied the 2nd hole to tie for the lead with Paul Goydos and on 8th hole a birdie by Perry, coupled with a bogey by Goydos, created a two-stroke lead for Perry that he would never give up. The lead on the back nine expanded to four-strokes when Perry dropped a 28-foot birdie-putt at the 11th hole. David Toms made a late charge up the leader board, but the closest he could get was two-strokes. The aggregate total of 22-under-par shattered the old TPC River Highlands tournament record of 20-under-par by Notah Begay and the 258 aggregate is the fifth best in PGA Tour history. It is his second title on the Tour this season and it is his 14th career championship on the Tour. He has won five tournaments in the last 13 months on the Tour and is now eligible through the 2014 season, when he will 54 years old |
