Catriona Matthew grew up playing golf on her local course in North Berwick. Her amateur career brought her much her much success; 1986 Scottish Girls Champion, the 1988-1989 Scottish Under 21 Stroke Play Champion, and the Scottish Amateur Title in 1991 and again in 1993-1994, as well as the British Amateur championship in 1993. Internationally, she represented Great Britain and Ireland on the 1990, 1992 and 1994 Curtis Cup teams. Golf, however, did not stop her from graduating university with a degree in Accounting (University of Sterling). Matthew is married and enjoys all types of sports off the course.

Professional Career Bio:

Catriona Matthew is an LPGA player that worked the rank and file and used her few victories to build a strong career. Though she has been playing on the LPGA since 1995, Matthew finally began to gather steam on the tour beginning in 2001. In that year, she finished 10th on the money list and got her first LPGA career hole-in-one at the Weetabix British Open. The following year, she crossed the $2 million mark in earnings and posted a career low of 64 at the Takefuji Classic. Her efforts help see the European Team to a win at the 2003 Solheim Cup, and in 2004 Matthew went into sudden death at the Wendy’s Championship to post a win against Hee-Won Han. By this time she had a accumulated six top ten finishes, earning over $3 million, had tied her own career low during at the Samsung World Championship and earned her second career hole-in-one during the 3rd round at the Weetabix British Open.
