Michael Tobiason Jr. picked a nice place for his first victory as a professional golfer.
Tobiason, a St. Elizabeth High and Goldey-Beacom College graduate, took the $4,000 top prize at the second Peter Horrobin Pro-Am Invitational, held May 7-9 at the White Witch Course at the Ritz-Carlton Golf and Spa Resort in Jamaica. A course-record 67 in the second round wound up with his scorecard framed on a plaque at the resort.
"It's a confidence booster. It felt good, like a lot of hard work paid off," Tobiason said Monday. "I was the leader going into the final day, so it's good to feel that pressure and be able to succeed."
