What is everyone thoughts on the alternative to golf carts. The Golf Bike? Electric bikes weigh approx. 70 lbs. Without clubs and rider. 4" fat balloon tires easy of the turf. The future of golf? There are a lot of pros about them. Any downside?

Big downer for me: no roof to keep the sun or rain off (n)

Tip: just hit thumbnail OR full size once then post. I deleted the other 6 pics that were dupes of the 3 that are left 😉
I am normally a walker. I don't feel your pain.
I wonder how many course super's would see "a bike" and give an automatic (n)
My first clubs had wooden, hickory shafts. It's all I knew until my father bought me a used set of PGA Ryder Cup irons. 1966. Back then, everyone walked playing golf. Golf carts broke out on the scene. Most golfers didn't fall for them. Change has always been accepted at some point. I have many reasons for disliking golf carts. Reason #1. They tear up my golf course, weigh half a ton with four wheels driven by nomads all over the course.. #2. They actually hurt my game. Especially when riding with someone else. #3. They don't speed up the game. Many course supers use them to make money. They don't improve the quality of the game of golf. In my opinion. we have come accustomed to them and accept their existence. There are many things about golf bike's that actually are an improvement over golf carts. #1. they weigh a fraction of that of a golf cart, thus less harm to the course. 2 wheels. #2 Independence, one rider moving straight to your ball speeds up the game dramatically. What's not to like about that? I am 67 years old. I have walked since 1966. I love the exercise. The e bike for golf gives me a better option than a golf cart all while still getting exercise because they are peddle assist. It's about staying healthy too.

Same here.

Greed is one possible answer. Courses make tons of money renting carts. They fear change.
