The rain held off just long enough for Cristie Kerr to finish the 18th hole, and neither the ensuing downpour nor the nasty Old Course could dampen her mood.

''It could be one of the hardest Open courses I've ever played,'' Kerr said, ''And I'm loving the challenge.''

Kerr takes a two-shot lead into today's final round of the U.S. Women's Open at Saucon Valley Country Club, which she has praised for six consecutive days. The Old Course has made life difficult for most of the field, but Kerr seems to love it. She is the only player under par through three rounds and has a chance today to win her second Women's Open title in three years.
