It is perhaps easy to forget one year later just how dominant Lorena Ochoa was when she ripped through the spring schedule of the 2008 LPGA Tour.
At the tour event in Phoenix, Ochoa won by a comfortable seven shots and was the only player in the field to break 70 in all four rounds. In fact, her highest score of the week was 68.
Then came the Kraft Nabisco Championship the next week and a six-shot victory, obliterating all the ghosts that had haunted Ochoa in the first major championship of the year. This time, Ochoa was the only player to break par-72 on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club for all four rounds.
