The Kraft Nabisco Championship trophy was slipping out of Yani Tseng’s reach on Sunday at Mission Hills Country Club. Not during the final round, but afterward, when an earthquake added to the commotion surrounding her second major victory.

Tseng, who was in the middle of a news conference when the ground started rolling, reached for the trophy, which was moving across the table like a downhill putt.

“Cool! It’s like my big week,” Tseng said, before quickly adding that she hoped nobody was hurt in the earthquake, which was centered roughly 100 miles south in Mexico, and measured 7.2 on the Richter scale.

With a four-under-par 68, Tseng finished at 13-under 275 for a one-stroke victory over her friend and playing partner Suzann Pettersen, who closed with a 69. Song-Hee Kim (70) finished third, four shots behind Tseng. Lorena Ochoa, the 2008 champion, was a distant fourth after a 73 gave her a 282 total.
