Did you guys see the performance Davis love had. He was in first after one day and got cut the next. Must have been that hole that he hit a 9 on. OUCH.

Davis got screwed over on 9.

Furyk took the lead as expected. It really was a tough hole. Back 9 updates anyone?
Right now ames is on top with Vijay and Garcia one stroke behind. One stroke behind them is weir stenson and furyk.
Where is tiger? I don't think he would have one anyways. The competitors get tougher and tougher each year.

Ames? Suprising.
Yea i was suprised when i saw ames too. Tiger is -2 and ames is -9 so hes pretty much done unless he gets a hole in one every shot.
Tiger behind par? C'mon Tiger! Get your head in the game!

Who is in the lead so far?

P.S. I am almost off work so I can check out the results for myself.
LOL Slash, Tiger can't win them all. He has had a pretty good year so far, I wouldn't be too concerned about one event.

I haven't been paying attention to this golfing match on TV much...but how in the heck did Love shoot a 9 on one hole? I would like to know more specifics if anyone knows!
Well David has a good chance to win PGA. I think my time is off on the competition though....

Anyways, he has the lowest rating and is BELOW par. (I've been getting mixed up...)
Well Vijay was one of the couple who passed hole 17! The wind was furious and if you made it onto the green, it was pushed right into the lake.

Some people got really close to making it and they didn't. I feel sorry for them. :)
That 17 Hole is really treachorous, it is always impressive how easily some of the players can get by it. If I ever even tried to play that hole I would lose more balls then I would be able to buy. I don't think I would ever hit the green.

LOL...
I don't know about that. I think you could. It's not that it's really hard, in fact it probably isn't. They are just trying to land on the green. I think atleast me and you can get onto the other landform. The pros focus on getting right next the the pole. Unfortunately, the wind was a hazard.
Actually I have played holes similar to this one and it is a lot harder than you think it might be. It isn't just hitting the ball straight into a wide fairway, the green itself is pretty small compared to a normal fairway.

Also I don't hit that long with any of my irons and I am not the best with the woods. I think I would have more trouble then you give me credit for!
Get that driver out. As I think of it, don't go for the green, just worry about getting onto the next platform. It is hard, but you can manage it.

I have done the same thing, but it was a mountain not a lake. It's very hard, and I didn't make it but my sister did and she is worse than me. :D
I am sure if I sat on the hole all day and hit balls as much as I could I would eventually get lucky and hit the green. But I don't think I will ever be able to do it on a first try, unless I really practice a lot.

I am not that good at golf...LOL. I can play easy courses and do OK right now.
Well there's one solution. Well two.

One is like what you said, practice on some novice courses and get better.
Also, do driving ranges, to get a feel of lon drives. Most holes are long.
This is how he hit a 9. First he drove it way into the audience right by a tree. had to take a drop. Then hit it into a bunker. Hit it into another bunker. Got on the green. Missed a long putt. Missed a 4 footer. Tapped it in for quad bogey.

Haha. He was in the lead but now he's long gone. Who is in the lead currently?
Ames has a one stroke lead over signh and garcia. My money is on Vijay going all the was since hes only one stroke behind and is probably the best in that position.
Sad to see what happened to him. Whether he held onto it or not Ames would have been hard to catch because he was on fire.
Well it looks like, as Fanofphil said, Love would have had trouble winning anyways even if he hadn't collapsed so bad.

With that said, this was disturbing. Is Davis Love still the player he once was? It sure doesn't seem like it. No player has ever had this bad of a day, I think that should count for something. He needsz to reevaluate where he is as a pro golfer and where to go next.
