With new sponsors and a new host course, this week marks the 30th time that an LPGA Tour event has been played in the Valley.
Papago Golf Course is hosting the best female golfers in the world, and the field is about as good as it gets, with all of the top 90 from this year's tour money list teeing it up today. That includes the top 10 players in the world rankings.
The tour announced plans for the tournament just six weeks ago, and organizers have been scrambling since then to get ready on a course that reopened in December after extensive renovation.
